100% how i think about it...

And if you can't farm Ectos in a speedy manner, can't merchant and ain't gonna buy the gold, then just give up on FoW, the amount of time spent killing griffs or whatever just isn't justifyable...it's not for everybody (see 15k armours)

I agree with this update though, Tats have always been the most expensive monk armour, wasn't right that Tats FoW was cheaper than the other sets, and 400k or so in shards isn't a huge barrier to the people who play clever and can afford FoW anyway.

For a laugh I Experted my monk FoW Ascetic handwraps (they're crap anyway, 15k wanderers handwraps>everything) and they gave me shards =D and I got my FoW before the 'update' ^^ Fr33 shardz omg?!11

CORRECT.

I was just about to get this armor for my monk and saved up for months and the day I go to get it *waited one extra day for a guildie to go with us* and this update makes me pay anthor 400k+. A complete joke can not even say how I feel about this *MAD* in these forums or I would be banned. Please fix this *BUG* this should not require shards. So unfair for us to change this now........after so many others got it 400k+ cheaper

Well, I don't wanna beat on a dead horse, but the 8k tats look horrible(sorry for those w/ super 1337 armor inspirations who have to settle for the next best thing), its basically a zebra stripe w/ the only redeeming factor of it covering the whole body w/ less space gaps. IMHO droknar dragon art tats are the only way to go. Less expensive and more artful detail.

Man, I'm glad I own my monk ascetics(although I got it about 2-3months back already), makes me feel like one of the lucky ones that bought a soon to be extinct item and kept it. I never did have the insight to buy HOD swords and FFS(never even heard of it then) even when it was offered in my face and could've crafted it. Man, I'm missing out on all these sales

Anyway, GL, anet should really nerf the cost of craftings tats, their mats required is simply ludicrous. That would be the only nerf I would support. ALong w/ the price of charcoal, I mean it cost way more to craft steel/deldrimor than just to buy it by itself. 200 for charcoal? WTF!

Also, ALOT of *us* didn't get it "cheaper" most people seem to forget that ecto once reached about 11k per(although people only bought for 10k per) and that for the longest time. Vellum was also quite expensive back then, I remember making money off merchants by crafting vellum and selling it to merchant for 500g per, made about 300g income per vellum. Back then, the majority of the people who got their fow payed about the same amount you guys are now paying for yoru fow w/ shard, or atleast very close.

Although yeah, I noticed when ecto price dropped, the FOW armor generation came to bloom and every other guy was running w/ fow. Kinda made the armor less prestigious but I got it for looks in the first place. Feel sorry for the guys who were "almost there" especially those who didn't get it only cause of bad groups. I know that can be annoying, in this case ******* ******** *****

Yeah Necro scar pattern and Monk tattoos now require shards in order to balance out the cost of FoW armor. It was stupid that some classes got the FoW armor for so much cheaper than others. I've got FoW on my warrior and ranger but i've got a monk and necro left so yeah i'm a bit bitter about it but i'm also think its fair.

I'm not even dreaming of FoW armour. That is never meant for me. This price change does nothing for me. In a few weeks from now I'll be playing Factions anyway.

There's always eBay gold. Seriously, 500k for <$20 U.S. If you're dying to have that FoW set then that's the way to go. If you consider the time it takes as a player to accumlate 500k gold, then consider how much your hourly wage is, it makes $20 look like chump change.

*whistles* *looks around* *sneaks off to eBay**

I don't know - FoW armour will always be special. The new armour in Factions might get people worked up and maybe there will be an equivalent in Factions that is outrageously pricey, but I like it, don't have, but I like it.

I got my monk's ascetics months back and my necro scars 4 days before the nerf. It was a bad idea to nerf them - i bet a huge number of people were disappointed whilst they were saving. Do anet want people to ebay and support that annoying chinese farming industry? ...maybe anet runs it.

I think Anet was just wanting to treat everyone fairly here - it might have burnt a few people that were in the process of saving up, but it's not fair that other classes don't have such an option to get FoW armor so cheap.

ANet should at least publish these changes. I'm sure many a monk went down to FoW to get their armor and then realized they were 105 shards short.
